Under the GAVI CDS 3 project, ten trained volunteers visited 959 households across ten communities, capturing 667 children under five into the community immunisation register and following up 596 of them. A vaccine missed at six weeks is easy to lose track of by six months — unless someone writes the child's name down and comes back.
That's the unglamorous engine behind the bigger numbers: 115 defaulting children traced back into the system, 79 nomadic and migrant caregivers reached, and a district campaign that ultimately vaccinated 2,995 children. None of it shows up dramatically in a report. It just shows up, eventually, as a fuller immunisation register.
